CJ bumper

It's not quite finished, yet. Hopefully, tomorrow.

Well, it's "finished". I am thinking about adding two more tubes to the hoop, to give it some more strength.

Looks good. What material did you use? Looks like a 2x6 or is it 2 pieces?

That's pretty sweet. Only thing I'd suggest (though I don't weld so I dunno how hard it would be) would be D rings and Light Tabs. All in all I think it's cool, and I like your idea of the extra hoops.

It's one piece, 2"x6"x3/16". I goofed when I welded on the mounting brackets and put the seam of the tube in the front. Oops. I want to put D-rings on it, but only have a 110 volt welder. That's a critical item and I would feel better if those were put on with a 220 machine.

The 220 welder would be better, but you can weld it with a 110. Just bevel the pieces to get full penetration and run several beads to fill and strengthen. I use 3" x 5" x 3/16' and even weld an additional 1/4" plate on the front around the mount for better distribution of the stress.

I want to put a nice hoop on the front of my bumper also. Yours looks great. How did you bend it, do you have a tube bender? Did you just heat it and bend it.
Looks great

For now, I only have a cheap hydraulic pipe bender. Up close you can see that the bends aren't perfect. I will have a garage, soon. That = JD2. JD2= all kinds of cool stuff, being built!
