Buying a Torchmate!

Welp, I got my tax return back and I bit the bullet and put down a deposit on a torchmate. I have a good drafting background and obviously a love for my jeep... so it just seems like it was the next tool I needed.

Anyone on here other than Eddie have one? I have rattled through a bunch of things I could cut... tabs, gussets, beadlocks, boom shackles... but I am trying to think of more stuff to use it for... not just 4wheel related (open to suggestions) but also stuff outside the box.

Also, PM me if you want something cut...

Campfire rings with the JEEP logo cut out.
Campfire Rings with a wilderness theme
Personalized mailbox signs.
I don't know how involved you want to get........I've seen some really cool glasstop tables that had intricate steel designs under the glass.

Desk art.. wall hangings... steel gates.. patio furniture.. steel chairs... There are soooo many things you can make.

I just got a piece of 304 stainless. I must try to make one of these tunas. I've already been experimenting with heat coloring the stainless to get different hues. After the Tuna, I want to do a Largemouth Bass for one of the guys I work with at my dayjob. After that, I want to experiment with stainless butterflies and <gulp>... stainless 3D roses.

Great ideas guys, turns out the Civil engineering world is slowing down just a bit, which leaves me time to draw up ideas for this thing. I want to do all kindsa stuff with it... I think I will give the campfire ring a shot first.

Eddie... if you get a tuna done... let me know, I have a buddy I work with that is looking for something just like that!

jkl, I didn't cut that, I just found it on Google Images..

I did cut a small "test Tuna" (about 8" long) and plan to cut another one about 2ft long in a week or so. If it turns out nice, I'll post pics. If it doesn't, nobody will ever know..

Drew up plans for a hexagonal camp fire ring this morning. I think it will be pretty cool. Be able to personalize it too.

Eddie, so in 3 weeks when no tuna photos show up... we will know not to ask how it went!? hahahaha...

That's right.. I post pics of everything that turns out okay. You guys never see how big my "scrap pile" is though... think I turned in about 2000lbs last time I made a run to the recycler.

I wanted one so bad... I sold my buggy for it. Best move I ever made for the shop though. I dropped about $9K into this table. If I count the amount of $$ I save in my bumper brackets, it has paid itself off already (bought it late last Summer).
