Building Rock sliders

I'm about to start making my sliders for my Comanche and I have a couple of questions about the thickness of the steel I'll be using. In the shop I have 3 X 1-1/2 X 11 GA square tubing for the sliders/bracket arms, for the mounting point I have 3/16x6 flat steel. Does that sound like it will hold up? Or should I call my supplier and order some more beefy steel? I'm not attempting to build anything that I can use as a side step/slider I just want some form of protection for my rockers
Thanks

11 gauge is 1/8" so it should be fine. Just search XJ sliders there are a billion threads

i dont know if im the only one getting annoyed with all the people who are to lazy to search something. thats just me though sorry for making you the example your not the only one

But yes just search it with the forums search tool and there will be many threads about custom sliders including steel thickness

I generally build all mind from TS 2x3 11ga. b/c that is a more common size my supplier carries. 1 1/2 x 3 would be more ideal, but i can't beat my deals.

I also use 1 1/4" sch 40 pipe (1 5/8"OD) for rub rails.
