Realized I never posted photos of it actually installed. I haven't finished the wiring 100%, but it's bolted down in the back seat (through the bottom to the seat-belt bolt hole) and is absolutely secure. I went to REI and got some waterproof storage duffel bags to keep things in, and they work perfectly. It currently has the CB, scanner, recovery tools/winch control/gloves/d-ring shackles, etc, and a bunch of tools and extra fluids.

I did buy two hyrdaulic pistons but they were WAY too strong for the tiny lid. I had planned on building a cage for the top to hold other larger things in, but as that hasn't happened yet, the pistons were never installed. It's first month of use has gone very well, with the only downside being that it's tough to access with the soft top on since the fabric sits over the lid. Perhaps I should have installed it the other way, but whatever! It's a theft deterrent.

Here it is in it's current state... and the subwoofer does sound great!

I like it!

Does it lock?

Seems like those two pieces of electronics are subject to being damaged if anything were to fly forward into them? Your tool box for instance.

Looks great! I did one very similar!

I did a "box" too, but I used the floor of the jeep as the floor of the box, and the tail gate as the point of entry, when it's closed the box is locked:

It secures to the Jeep with turnbuckle screws, using the seat brackets.

It's easy in and easy out. I store my cooler and hi-lift on top when wheeling. There's room for quite a bit inside it too.
