Bending up some tube fenders

Okay so a good buddy of mine started talking about wanting to build up some tube fenders and see what kind of feed back we would get so he asked me if I would be willing to use my jeep as the guinea pig. We had kicked the ideas around and came up with idea of the high clearance fenders, I know nothing new except that we didn't cut the hood up since the tires were rubbing on the outer fenders and starting to get the buldge.
We started off with a 1.75"x.120 wall tube bent around the grill to use as a starting point [IMG]http://i313.photobucket.com/albums/ll390/jeffm1964/HPIM0464.jpg[/IMG
Them flanged the some tube off that to start the fenders for that we used 1.5"x.120 wall

We figured we gained 3.5" in hieght and the same in the back inner fender

The pics posted up don't really do the craftsmanship the true justice it deserves these things are solid to no end I know I won't be uncomfortable in using them as part of my sliders if needed. If anyone is down here in So. Cal and is looking for a great fab shop check these guys out www.bengelsoff-road.com you won't be disappointed in their work

Those look pretty clean.

I have questions:

1) Will you be adding (amber and red) LED lights to the flares to be street legal? If you want inspiration, check out what this guy did... http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f9/06-lj-build-fireproof-597877/

2) Since the flares ride up higher than stock, how are you going to handle the hood hold downs?

Thanks for the link for the LED's, as for the hood latches they will more than likely just slide up the hood much like the AEV high clearance or the GEN RIGHT systems do
