axle tube thickness

I have looked for a few days but can not find the axle tube thickness for an 8.25 hopefully somebody here can enlighten me....

idk about exact numbers, but it's slightly thicker than the 35, what are your plans for it where tube thickness is really an issue?

Welding on some brackets and I am worried about penetration. I am new to fabrication stuff.

you won't burn through the tubes unless you do something really dumb. what kind of welder are you using? maybe i can offer some advice

I am using a 270 amp with .035 flux core. I initially tried it with a 90 amp but was told that it prob didn't get good enough penetration. I did notice the tubes were smoking and I could see the heat transfer on the inside. I am new to all of this though. I'm considering taking a college class in welding though.

the tubes will smoke if you stick a lighter under them, i wouldn't sweat it too much. as long as when you're laying the bead it lays into the metal instead of laying on top you should be fine. not sure if it's very clear but if you can see it the weld lays pretty deep in the metal rather than sitting on top and sticking up
