Got a VOTECH school or community college that has a machining or manufacturing tech class? Have one of the students fab you a die. you would be out the cost of the steel and have them heat treat it. In my HS welding and metals manufacturing class my buddy made some dimple dies for one of his graded projects. He had 8 sizes all the way up to 4". All hardened and pretty slick. Teacher showed him how to anneal the steel and then harden it to make it last.

My girlfriend works at the community college in the welding and machining department. They are just stating the CNC machining department. They have already told me that because of regulations they can't build stuff like this for me any more. Good idle though. I will wear them down in this but right now, no go.

Pay a student for it after he gets graded on it. If you think about it, having a soon to be machinist be able to understand and design a dimple die and the principles behind how it works, materiel flow under psi, spring back and other scientific stuff would actually be a great project. You could end up with a coupla different style of dies if you play your cards right.

That is not the problem. Not only does my girlfriend work there she is also a student. I agree the project is a great one. But they can't do anything that goes outside of the curriculum. They just started this program and there is a ton of BS about it. What started to be (years ago when it was thought of) a great coarse is now a mother. There are so many eyes watching things now. But after the politicians forget about the 9 millions it donated to the schools around here for this program. We should be back to our old tricks. I was even asked to teach the Fabrication class but had to tell them to forget it. To many rules at the schools these days. And the students suffer. If a student wants to bring in a project that goes along with what they are doing and they are passionate about, they are forbidden from doing it. Only school projects.

This is really nice. My wife is paranoid about a rear impact on her 99 Cherokee (jeep ended up exempting the XJs from the recall). I looked at your website and did not see pricing for this. What do you project for a cost for these?

That is this # . You need to do them on Instagram. It makes things easier to search for. For example if I were to search Instagram for #Aresfab then any picture labeled with that would come up. Kinda cool, kinda stupid. But that is how it works.

What happens is the body deflects to fit the armor. Putting way to much stress on the mounting hardware. Making them pull out over time. They give you a flat piece where we have 12 bends in this piece. 10 of them are 1 degree bend. Giving you a contoured armor. A little extra work but way worth it.
Ever make the quarter panel armor for a wj? I will probably end up doing it myself but with nowhere near your quality craftsmanship. If so whats the price?
