Anyone built a gas tank skid?

How did it go? What thickness did you use? My stocker is a rusted bent mess and I would rather build someting than buy it. Not really a money thing. Metal work is a hobby. Ohh I'm talking for a 97 tj

I did one for my CJ a few years ago.. used 3/16". Since I didn't have any way to bend the material, I "perforated" it with the plasma, bent it to shape, and welded the seams closed. I've since beat on it pretty hard..
