Adding suspension to camper

I've been tossing around the idea of lifter my Starcraft pop up camper to match my lj. The problem is that the camper currently has no suspension and no solid axle, will post picture after work. So my question is would it be possible or save to add leafs and a live axle to this trailer.

Might be easier to just mount the camper on an existing trailer?
