800 for the engine new.
385 front end work
starter 57.00
radiator 125.00
paint 135.00
bed coating 130.00
muffler 37.00
new battery 68.00
other odds and ends...129.00
total: 1866.00
400.00 to purchase the jeep
Grand total: 2266.oo
Yet is still cheaper than one we looked at for 5500.00 with a weak
engine in it and more rust than the one we bought.
I thought it was a dream come true..so the effort and labor we put into it was well worth it..
Thanks for letting us know you like it... everything is orginal like if you just bought it..sept the paint.
Keep on jeep'n
P.S. WE DID THIS IN THREE WEEKS..worked everyday 9 to 12 hours a day... glad its done.

Only thing new is the bikini top..nutmeg color..looks sharp now.
No plans..we dont want to add lift or nothing like that..
well maybe solid rear axels...
We are happy the way it looks.
More pics will be added to our site once the rain stops..
so you can see it with the bikini top.
Maybe paint the rims..
Nothing else though...
we get more comments like.." nice to see it restored to the original state.
or..dont see many cj 7s original.
We are proud...
all in all..we just dont have the money to do what we want..
so it will stay original....we like it that way..
Thanks again guys.
Nice to know someone else likes to see us keepen it the way it was.
Keep on jeep'n

Good to hear you'll be keeping it as close to stock as you can. I hear you on the rain and money. Keep up the good work.

I found that site very useful. I'm currently (for the next 6-9 months) exploring ALL options to build a rig on a budget. Ideally, if I can target the right price at the right time for a chassy and body, I would like to stay around 3500.00 to 4000.00. I have feeling I will end up doing about 5k-6k however. Years ago, before I started my extreme fascination with offroadin', I budgeted to rebuild a streetrod(77' TA). Let's just say my 4500.00 upgrade/rebuild went out tha window! Got more bills now, so I GOTTA stay in budget! lol.
