02 wrangler cluster died now jeep won't start

02 jeep wrangler sport gauges stopped working and jeep will not start. Went out to leave and that's what i encountered. Engine Will turn over trying to start. All the lights on dash work. Checked fuses. Relays. Tested wiring through out steering column. Had power everywhere, But found 20 pin multifunction plug was melted. Replaced that and still no positive results. Ran self check on cluster and all gauges cycle through successfully. Tried a new head lamp switch thinking it may be bad and the reason the plug melted. Still nothing. Battery putting out 12.5v. Could it actually be the ignition switch keeping the car from getting no signals allowing it to start? And shouldn't it start even if the gauges aren't working?

Check your distributor and see if you're getting fuel pressure.

Also this is in the wrong section, should be in TJ Technical Discussion not Fabrication.
