T90 to dana 20 Help!

Im trying to hook up a T90 from a 1949 willys up to a dana 20 from a cj5. I have been told by a buddy that all I need is a T86 bearing retainer and clip. Then I see this kit from novak that makes it seem more complicated. Do I need to make sure that I get the bull gear that went to the t case originally or will the bull gear from the previous 18 be compatible. Please will somebody tell me exactly what I need to get?

Interesting. I am also wondering the same thing. The jeep t90 had three different versions but they were all married to a small bore spicer 18. So you need to marry it to a larger bore case?
Why not just get the Novak bearing? It's only 64 bucks. You'll probably spend more time trying to chase down the t86 parts and I imagine you would spend the same amount of money either way.

probably would have

Probably would have. I have had great luck with novak adapters. So you think buy the novak bearing and get the bull gear with the case and ill be golden?

I am not 100 percent on the bull gear. But wouldnt you just need a bull gear to fit the t90 output shaft?

Okay so after doing some research you should need a 26 tooth, 6 spline bull gear. My spicer 18 has a 1 1/8 intermediate shaft I think and the bull gear is a 26 tooth, 6 spline. The Dana 20 I have is a 26 spline, 6 spline bull gear as well. They both fit my t18 output shaft just fine. They do look a little different in the picture but they fit the shaft the same. So I THINK you need a 26 tooth, 6 spline bull gear. Novak has a gear interchange on their website. The gear on the left is from a 1 1/8th intermediate shaft spicer 18 and the gear on the right is from a Dana 20. I had an issue uploading the image. Hope it comes out okay.

I realize the last post was over 9 months ago. What parts did you have to use to bolt the Dana 20 to your T90?
