t56 with a transfer case

has anyone run a gm t56 trans in a 4x4? im sure it can be done with a custom adapter replacing the back section of the trans, but the tailshaft would be wrong as well, has anyone seen this done?

Seems like it would be fairly difficult since the shifter is in the tail housing. Maybe run a divorce case and a short shaft between? Would probably be a fairly long setup.
