roll cage reinforcement

Ever since I rolled the YJ, beefing up the roll cage in my TJ has been on top of my list of stuff to do. I want to see your stock roll cage beefed up to give me some ideas. Also how you tie it into the frame if you do.
I'm not looking for full blown, built from scratch cages. Just a decent cage that was built from the stock cage.

04 TJ- Short Bus. It's got some stuff.

Sometimes I question my sanity. Occasionally it replies.

I added a Sport cage to mine...... I cut the factory base plates off, then welded on new base plates from Ballistic ("A", "B", & "C" pillars). I also added a frame tie in kit for the "A" and "C" pillars.

Here's a couple pics of my brothers cage. We built it off the stock B pillar, we would have kept the tubes coming off the B pillar but they appeared to be .90 wall so we replaced them with 1 3/4" .120 wall

Nice looking cage. You may have a dash bar that I just don't see, but if you don't, you might want to consider adding one then place a gusset in each corner (circled). At the top of your "A" pillar, you might want to triangulate this corner more as Jeeps tend to roll onto one windshield corner or the other which will push your cage sideways and cause the down tubes to fold sideways.

You said you weren't looking for pics of full, built from scratch cages, but here are a few pics of my tie-ins that may help you.

For the money, I dont think you can beat the BTF add on kit. I havent done one personally but will be getting one very soon. Its a great start and I will be adding on to id with some custom pieces as well as tying the A and Bpillars into the sliders and the frame. Genright, Poly performance, and KOZ also make very nice add ons.

Not that poly is 500 not 200 for the front section-the drop down p/n is misleading

Very nice MO2500, Ill be doing something similar with mine, only I think Im going to sandwich my sliders in bewteen the tub and plate

If you look closely in the first picture you can see the dash bar. Ya the cage is being built to race specs so basically every joint is going to be gusseted and there will be a W in the b pillar that cage isn't even close to being done.

do the door uppers just weld into the rollbar and the brackets bolt into the windshield? we started on mine last night and couldn't figure out where the little oblong rectangle brackets go. and do you just put the dash reinforcement plates on after you weld in the lower windshield/dash bar for extra support or what?

It's a Jeep, it's not supposed to work right all the time.
