Ford 8.8 c clip

Replacing the wheel studs on my 8.8 w/discs and I couldn't find the right size needlenose so I just turned the gears until the c clip bottoms were facing me and I pushed them down with a flatblade. Now I can't find where the c clip dropped to. It's somewhere in the pumpkin, I can hear it jingle at a certain spot when I rotate the whole axle. I've been fishing around with a telescoping magnet for hours with no luck. Even tried jiggling the whole axle around to jimmy it out but I still cannot locate it. Any advice?

Are they in the carrier around the spider gears? Or maybe stuck in the oil passage but I don't think the oil passage is big enough for a clip let alone two to fall in there.

Jason.

I suspect they may be in the carrier. I failed to mention I only pulled one shaft and the other c clip is still on the other shaft.

I assume you found it by now (been 5 days). If not, pull the whole axle and ship it to me, I'll get it out for you.

Couldn't have went far did you pull the other axle and look above the pinion?
