5.3v8 Swap for 2.5l with NP246

I apologize if this has been asked before but I couldn't find anything with the search function. I have a 5.3v8 with gm 4l60e mated to the original np246 tcase and wanted to know if I would run into any geometry problems on the rear drive shaft using the np246. I'm wondering if I need to stay with the 231 that the jeep came with. Just trying to minimize the cost of the conversion since I already have the np246. Thanks

the 4l60e/np246 is gonna give you a short driveshaft. what i did is i went through novak and got the 3 inch thick adapator plate/output shaft for the 4l60e to mate it to the np231 also if im not mistaken the 246 is all wheel drive? which would not be a good idea for a wrangler

I put a 241 in mine, behind a th350 I had to lengthen it buy using a 2wd trans and making a tcase mount. Yours is tighter but I had to do this to get close to where my 231 was in a xj chassis. 241 is cheap on eBay, and all mechanical instead of push button. Mine came from a 91 Chevy pickup.

Zj sorry.

Also if you haven't figured out wiring, jimsperformace does the harness with a 350 Hp tune. He's done 5 for me with zero issues

Thanks for your responses. For some reason I have the hardest time trying to log back in to the forum everytime. I did find out that the drive shaft would be too short if I went with the NP246. As far as I can tell its not the AWD. It has the electric actuator to engage it on the bottom. I ordered the adapter kit from Advance adapters so i can use the 231. I can't wait to get this beast running. I have a local guy that builds the wiring harnesses. This will be the first of many. I already have the motor for the second one. 1in body and 1/75 suspension lifts came in today. Shaving the motor mounts off and installing the lifts tomorrow.
