350 TBI and 5-speed swap in YJ, have some clutch questions and more

Just starting to gather parts to begin my big project. So far, I have an engine from a '90 K1500 (TBI 350), wiring harness and computers, 5-speed transmission from 95? Blazer (NV3500?), np233c and np231j transfer cases, and an '87 Wrangler.

I need to know what flywheel/clutch I need to get to mate the 4.3 trans to the v8. I've read about different sizes of clutches and really just don't know what to go with.

Also, transfer case... what to do? The np233c on the transmission appears to be very similar to the np231j that i have lying around. I dont mind the electronic shift but the front output shaft is another concern. Can it be swapped from a 231 into a 233? I do plan on a SYE for the rear.

I'm sure I'll add some more questions to this once the time comes.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Its the same trans that came in the 1/2 ton truck with a 350 so use the same flywheel and clutch as a 90 truck would have with the 5 speed. No big deal. We did the same swap on a buddys 94 yj. We used everything from a 90 model truck. Now it has 3/4 axles with a 465/205 combo. Your biggest problem will be the length of the trans and case

Thats what i like to hear, Thanks. Is there a big difference in length? I haven't pulled the drivetrain from the wrangler yet to measure things up.

You wont have but about a 10 or 12" long driveshaft

I'll try to figure out something when the time comes for that... hopefully. Just one more question regarding the clutch, The trans that I have has an internal slave cylinder whereas the k1500 shows it having an external one. Will this still work with the k1500 pressure plate?

I went with an SM465 because its so short and allowed for a longer driveshaft. You might consider selling the nv3500 and going for a SM465. They can be had pretty cheap and are near bulletproof, plus you get a granny gear. I would also look into a megashort SYE kit

That im not sure.. I dont like those trans. They wont take much abuse if you going to beat on it save some money and dont use it.

i have a nv3500 in mine and my rear shaft is 17inches. that isnt to short in my opinion. also my trans was out of a 1500 truck with a 4.3 i just used the 4.3 flywheel and clutch. it is only 1/4 inch smaller than a 350 clutch.
