1995 Jeep Cherokee

Hey, I'm new to the forum because I need some advice.

My 95 Cherokee has a bad rod bearing and the engine at least needs a rebuild which will run around 1500-I do not have time to do it myself

A friend of mine has a 2010 Wrangler Engine and Tranny all together that I can get.

My question, is it possible to put the Wrangler engine and tranny in my jeep or would it be too much of a custom job? Both are automatic, I am worried that the computer and wiring harnesses would be needing big changes in my jeep, as well as all of the engine and tranny mounts.

Thanks:confused

Possible, yes, but it's not a simple remove-one and replace-with-the-other, if that's what you are asking. Fabrication would be required.

I guess I'm asking if it will be around the same cost as the rebuild

Depends. What's the '10 motor cost? Can you do the fab required to make it fit?

It's like 500 bucks from a friend who swapped it for a hemi, I don't have the time to fab

Expect to pay someone in the range of 3-5k for required fabrication, materials, and wiring.

if you can find someone who thinks they can make the ecu talk to your gauges, i doubt anyone could though.

I hydrolocked my 98 XJs and I bought a salvage engine for 300 bucks with 80000 thousand on it and had it in that night. PLEASE PUT THE 4.0 BACK IN. Think with your dipstick, if you want more power just do the 6 to 8 kit it will still be way cheaper
