Tmaxx electric conversion

I know this section doesn't get allot of traffic but id figure i would ask anyway. I have a tmaxx 2.5 that i would like to convert to electric. Probably want to go the brushless route but im still undecided. So all i should need is a motor, esc, battery and make a motor mount of course. Ive read that you should do a single speed conversion on the trans and eliminate reverse as well which makes sense. Has anyone done this before? Also my steering servo should run off the lipo battery now correct? Its been probably 4 years since i did anything rc related and im pretty rusty
