Whats for dinner everyone??

I know its not BBQ or Grilling, but i would like to start a "Whats for dinner thread"
I would like to expand my cooking range( if you wanna call it that) and try to get this part of the board more active...its a nice change to come here instead of seeing " what tires will fit my 2 inch lift " threads post every day

I am born and raised in Central Pennsylvania my whole life( except when i turned 18 and joined the army, and traveled.... alot) and my "base" of foods are EXTREMELY meat and potatoes types. So I would like to see what people all over the U.S/ world are making /eating for dinner... warning this may be dangerous and effect your taste-buds!!!!!!!!!!!!

SO...with that being said the only requirements are:
Dish name.
Cost.
Recipe ( or summary ) } but its up to you
and most importantly for the drool factor..... pictures

My idea is to be inspired by people from Canada or Dubai, or Africa, or hell even Kentucky...

Even if its some crazy **** like braised bat testicles, i wanna see it.....ill start tonight at dinner

I HOPE YOU WILL JOIN ME

Interesting idea. A friend or 7 are coming over tonight to do a little bonfire. I think I'm going to fire up the grill. Haven't decided on whether I want dogs/burgers or brats. We shall see...

No pictures but a couple nights ago I grilled bone in rib eyes that had been covered in chimichurri sauce, mashed roasted cauliflower with grilled tomatoes and onions. No salad.

I just got back from the store, i scored pork ribs for 2.38 and 2.56 ea pk, 1 bone in and one trimmed. 2 lbs ground beef, 2 lbs chicken breast (WTF!!, is it so hard to carry bone in and skin on????I mean its not like im asking to bang the queen of England, c'mon give a man a break) and some sweet Italian sausage......due to the fact I am moving to Texas in 9 days I no longer own a grill no room to take it so grilling is out for me,BUT, when I get back to Texas...its on

Tonight it will be taco salad. Start at the bottom and stack all ingredients until they overflow the plate.

Tortilla chips
Ground beef taco meat
Grated cheddar cheese
Shredded lettuce
Chopped tomato, cucumber, etc...
Pickled jalapeño slices
Sour cream, salsa, hot sauce, etc...

There are no real rules. Make it how you like it.

I made BBQ pulled pork sandwiches for dinner sorry no pics my camera was in the car with he wife at work.
for my BBQ sauce I took 3 macintosh apples peeled and sliced.
1 half sweet onion cut into long strips.
2 cups apple cider
cinnamon
butter and
allspice
sauted in pain
meanwhile season ribs with salt pepper and bbq seasoning
pan high temp sear for 2 mins

combine in crockpot for 7 hrs with some sweet baby rays original sauce
and heaven will follow

when meat is almost done pull out and separate
then strain the pot sauce so you can pull onions out and spoon 4 tablespoons of apple mush into your pork pile
then drain 2 cups of pot juice back in
alongwith more bbq sauce about 1 cup
return meat and cook on low till done
walla...

I built an "Ugly Drum Smoker." Search for it on BBQ-brethren.com, there's a whole thread on building them (set aside some time, it's a real long one LOL). Once you've got the parts, build time can be as little as an hour or so depending on how nice you want it to be. I sanded & painted mine up to make it prettier for the wife to accept it on the back porch, but there's no need for it other than that.

Edited to add - minus the paint & stuff, I've got less than $100 in building this smoker.
