What are y'all cooking

for Labor Day peeps ?

I am thinking smoked center cut pork loin with chicken wings, tenders or maybe quarters .

A sweet tater, pineapple rings and some kind of rice may be in order too .

I just did some foil cooking over the campfire at Crater Lake...
Spicy hot Andouille sausage, diced little red potatoes, garlic, onion, zucchini, broccoli, carrots, butter, pepper, salt...

.

very true phit, but just me and wifey so nothing to exciting. tonight marinated, italian dressing, fresh lime juice and 1 tbsn of honey mixed, leave in fride over night, flank stake,, her half will have a rub, extra large shrimp, just basted with garlic and olive oil. and zucchini. zucchini will just be cut length wise with cinnamon on top. of course all cooked on the bbq with lump charcoal.

Thanks, it was very tasty with the spicy andouille. When you roll into camp late and have to set up it's an easy quick one dish dinner you can make even in the dark. No dishes to clean either

I love grilled or foil cooked fresh trout

Scout, have you broken in the cast iron pan yet ?

Very nice job on those yummy eats and they remind me of being a Boy Scout .

I might have to try that with some Frank's Hot Sauce or some Crystal Louisiana Hot Sauce added .

Some like it hot .

Well, I learned a lesson the hard way this weekend .

Do not put to much seasoning/rub on meat or you may ruin it .

Sigh, it would have been so damn good if I had not put that junk on it .

Live and learn .

back in my early navy days, my camp looked barely set up. consisted of fishing gear, beer, stash of P&J loaf of bread in case i didn't catch fish, beer, sleeping bag, couple jugs of water, beer, and a poncho. and my first aid kit, mathes, knife a couple changes of cloths. did i mention beer? every thing was cooked in foil.

There have been some new changes going on lately .

P.S, I can't tell if you are kidding me here Penta, but if you read one of my above post you will see that I screwed the pooch on seasoning over the weekend thus making me the last person here to be asking about seasoning meat for a while .

no, wasn't funning you, i have no doubt we will both screw up our meals on occasion. pork bbq is more popular in the south than up in the north.
