From my understanding alot of hotels were not booking up that weekend so you should be able to pull something.

Yes, they emailed me back and they now changed the registration, so there is no more two night min.

We plan to be there Friday morning staying till Saturday night, we'll be taking the Cape May/Lewes Ferry from NJ to DE both ways.

I checked on that today and you can book just one night if you mention the promo code JEEP. The same holds true for booking a room on the Commander Hotel web site. Go to the web site and when booking your room use JEEP as the promo code and it will give you the discounted rate and allow you to book a single night.

As was mentioned before by MFERRARI, if you guys are staying overnight please try to support the Commander. The Commander Hotel has covered all of the legal expenses, insurance costs, food for the picnic, shirts, permits, etc, etc... to get this event off the ground. Please try to support the Commander and all of the other vendors listed on the Jeep Week web page while you are here in OC.

Shirts are being printed with that exact color logo on the back. I am pretty sure that people staying at the Commander will end up getting one freebie in their goodie bag at check in and the rest will be available for sale at or near cost at the hotel and at the events.

Jason, I think they were just pickin on you and your wife that day. I have gone down there countless times without top and doors with my feet hanging out the door and never received a ticket.

I guess it all depends on the cops working at the time and if they want to be pricks.

The 2008 Jeep Wrangler is not so much an SUV as it is an experience. It's slow and loud, handles poorly, has crummy interior materials and features doors that provide virtually no crash protection. But when it comes to off-road performance, the Wrangler is simply the best choice available.

This sounds like a cool event! I just saw this thread today and I doubt I can get away this weekend, but I'll plan on it for next year!

I asked about the ordinance and he said that nothing has changed in regards to the doors being on the vehicle for years. He said it gives an officer a reason to pull you over.

So I contacted Sack about this and hopefully he will have some connection in the PD to talk to them about this.
Thanks for looking into this . . .
