Here is their story:
Due to the fact that there was 1 neighbor that complained this area is closed... for now. We have started a petition to reopen the Hoyle so people can come and legally enjoy their recreational vehicles in a supervised setting.
Muddin at the Hoyle is a active quarry owned by Harford Industrial Minerals. They are very kind to allow us to use the land during the weekend off hours. This land is a active quarry and should and will be respected in that nature. There are designated trails that have been clearly marked off for ATV and off road vehicles. (excluding dirt bikes.. sorry). Harford Industrial Minerals is kind enough to let us use this land and we will respect their rules.
* Muddin at the Hoyle does NOT charge a entry fee but does ask for a donation of $20 per vehicle to keep the land safe and open to the public.
* Drinking and/or Drugs are NOT ALLOWED and regardless of the situation anyone participating in illegal activity's will be promptly removed from the property.
* There is a waiver that will be signed BEFORE entering the quarry. All drivers will be given a special bracelet, and their passengers will also be given a different bracelet that MUST BE WORN while in the quarry.
* Anyone in the park without the designated bracelet will be asked to leave the property.

The place looks awesome. Please keep us posted on the status of it opening or staying closed permanantly. Once downfall here though is alot of people have no idea spots like these exist until they get closed down and people are wanting help getting them opened back up. When they are open noone posts about them like they want to keep them a secret or something. Once it gets closed down suddenly they start posting but alot of times it is to late. If more people knew about it before it was closed down they would do alot more to open it back up because they would now have a stake in the matter. Alot of people will see this and go wow that place looks amazing but never go further than that and sign a petition. They dont realize what they are losing because they never got to use it.

It was only open for one day and it was not a secret. I see your point but I don't think it applies here. I wish the person who posted the petition would say who complained and why, because it might be something that can be worked out. If this ends up working out, who knows, this place could end up setting the example for other property owners in the area.

I wish it was that easy to shut other things down. CSX wants to build an Intermodal cargo transfer station within three blocks of my house, and within 100 ft of residential properties. They have two other sites they are looking at, but it seems they have a hard@n for the properrty near me. The Intermodal is where they double stack cargo containers on rail cars, and then they have to offload them onto trucks because the tunnels in Baltimore arent tall enough to allow double stacks.
Say NO to CSX Intermodal!!!!!

If it was only open a day I would agree. My statement still holds true for many many places though

I agree. I had only heard about once before and never actually been there and honestly forgot about it until I saw this posted on our Offroad Clubs FB page.

All I know is that a neighbor to the property complained about it and the owner of the property (a company, not individual) decided to stop the weekend wheeling to save face I guess. This petition is being brought to the owner to show them that there is more people to keep it open for then to shut it down for and to let them know that this could be a big thing in the future if they open it back up.

Me and you both. Thanks for the support guys!
For those of you that dont use FB, here is the link directly to the petition itself. Feel free to pass it forward to any of your local boards/clubs.

We just were contacted and asked to come on Wednesday night so we are scrambling to get everything together at the last minute. Hopefully this weather opens up though. We are working on a 4W2H events calendar that we should have out in the next week or so. That will help with advanced notice!
