Because we basically wheel 4 Wheel to Heal events. Also our rigs are trailered, and we are active duty Military so the chances of us going wheeling on a whim is pretty slim. Most of the guys on the forum just wheel rausch and trails road. Come on out and we will show you what Big Dogs is all about. We are heading up thursday but you can come up whenever

Slip Yoke Eliminator? No experience. Never needed it on my set up but there are a ton of kits, forums, and stuff out there on the swap/upgrade. Probably even youtube videos showing you exactly what to do. Research is what I tell every Jeeper when it comes to adding on anything they do not know about. Bolt on parts are awesome when your first starting out but if and when you get into the harder stuff like real lift kits, torsion bars, axle swaps, welding, ect you have to do the research because its the only thing that will keep you from hitting major hurdles with the build. Good luck!

Carroll County reporting in. Tons of farm land, but not many places to get my WJ dirty.

Hello, got my first Jeep and did first offroading in NC in very soft deep sand. What speed is normal for this kind of terrain?

I always thought sand was kind of keep the momentum going type of thing? Off roading in rocks or the woods, Speeds of 1-8mph.

Trails are 1 or 2nd gear 4 low and feet flat on the floor letting the motor drive. But that all changes with the terrain. It's kinda just get a feel for it and trust your spotter or trail guide.

I'm posting this on a few threads. I'd like to see these trips grow into something big....

So I'm back home. I was the NE Regional Manager for AEV. I just left and have come back to Adams Jeep in Aberdeen. It was a awesome job but the travel was really hard on my wife and I. I'm doing some fun stuff at Adams now so watch on Facebook each month I have a trip to Rausch Creek planned. It will be green and blue trails only. The groups are limited to 10 drivers only but you can have as many passengers as you have seat belts for. This is not a attempt to sell anything it's just a way to maybe bring Jeeps together and go wheeling. Leaving AEV wasn't easy and i got paid to wheel, why not create that same type of job at Adams Jeep? Now I just work for a local small dealer which could save money on membership cost as well as daily use passes. I'm working with a few of the guys at Rausch to help members of my trips out. These trips will be mostly a fun run and learning experience. Jeeps of all sizes and experiences are welcome. I love when totally stock Jeeps come along or totally new driver sign up. It's about fun and not about the coolest Jeep. I hope to see some of you guys on the trail. You can contact me through here or at adams Jeep (410) 879-5800. You can also reach me via Facebook through Adams Jeep's page.

Another bummer about leaving AEV was I had to give my company Jeep back... But I still have my other 3! Lol

I've been working on my YJ. I just did all new seats from Bestop, (Trailmax Pro II) and AEV Pintler Bead locks with 285/70/R17 MTR's. this will be my trail Jeep for awhile.

Tires at 20psi or so, 1st-2nd gear, 4wd high, keep up the momentum, stay in other's ruts...

I have never really had much interest to go rip some sand up. I like getting frisky in the woods, or on a mountain.

Mr Gardner, I am sorry you left your dream job, but glad you get to keep your wife. Whens the next RC trip, or have you not planed one yet?

I only go out on Assateague to get away from the masses in Ocean City. It just sucks to spend a 1/4 of a weeks pay to wash the jeep after. Haha.

Thanks. It was my dream job but I don't need to be AEV MIKE. I'm cool with just Mike. I made some great friends there and awesome memories.

The next trip will be in October. I'm working on some software with Chantelle from Topless for Tatas to help the sign up process. I limit the groups to 10 vehicles but I may have two groups running for the next trip. That would give us 20 vehicles but both groups would be running green and blue trails. In the future i may have another group that runs black and red but for now it's going to be more for learning then crazy wheeling. I want to teach new jeep owners how to drive safely and with respect. I also want to teach them proper recovery. Over all it's about having fun, (getting me out of the showroom!) out in the woods and using our Jeeps.

Mike - I was a road warrior for 9 years with my company... I had to get off the road too. Leave Sunday at noon, home Friday at midnight.... not a good life for the wife, kids, or me... I'll be looking for the RC trips either on the Adams page, or the Element Offroad page.
