A planned ride one of these weekends would be cool being the weather is getting nicer. I also wheel alone without any recovery equipment, I know that's not a good idea. Lots have changed in Wharton since I frequented it back in the 80's-90's.
Ill be home for spring break and would love to go wheeling. Iv never been down there yet most of my wheelingis in VT. Ill be home march 10-17th if anybody wants to go out there. Got a XJ with great recovery points a 2" BB and Im great with a come a long but really let me know if yall are going. Im located by Flemington

Wharton is a sand trap, it will do things to your truck, guaranteed, especially all the puddles. It s sand not mud, and is different, t gets everywherem can stain the paint if not washed off relatively quick after leaving there. Be careful in Wharton is all.
Was out yesterday and ran into a few Jeeps on High Crossing stuck in this hole, Lent them my strap and then along came these dudes. I knew the Chevy wouldn't make it before he even went in. The Scout II pulled him out no problem, haven't seen one of those in a long time.
We continued to Hampton and then to Stokes, there were a few nasty holes there, even needed 4 wheel for one of them. Saw quite a few groups out there yesterday. Man I need a winch!
