Its getting real bad out there with where you can and can't go. Might as well just bulldoze the pines and make a shopping mall.

ehhh, I could understand the frustration, but there are only 2 big spots that they want to keep people away from, 1/4 mile and jemima. Both of which you can blame on morons, plowing their own trails. Wharton was never intended to be an offroad park, luckily we have the access that we do. Think about it this way. The New Jersey Pinelands Preserve is a national preseve, as a matter of fact it was the first one. What other national preserve can you get away with what we already do? It's just unfortunate that the two spots you mentioned had magnetic powers to morons. there's alot of fun to be had out there other than them two spots.

You are correct we do get away with a lot and as long as I can still go out there a couple times a year and go camping that will keep me happy.

Yea like mud boy said , there's almost nowhere else around that you
Can even drive period in the woods legally , we are very lucky to have what we do , take a ride to bell plain Forrest , there's paved roads to picnic areas and that's about it , that's why everyone stresses so much to not destroy Wharton

Yes, i was stuck in the center of a main road. A wrangler could not get enough traction to pull me out.
Had to wade through ice cold water to get my winch hooked up,
Now I'm home watching the water drip out of my pinion seal.

Left the crowd of 40+ people sitting at the Pic-a-lilli

Lol Dennis it was nice to actually meet you and wheel with you instead of seeing you on 206.

This road now has a two foot deep soft bottom puddle.
I studied it for a bit, then a Park Police Officer pulled up on the other side.

I walked over and asked him how deep it was, but he didn't know.
Had to take the long way around.

My wife and I go with friends all the time (We live in Tabernacle). The puddle behind you gets DEEP!! attached is a video at night with me driving through in my truck (2007 Nissan Frontier, Stock) and the wife drives the 97 Jeep Wrangler. If anyone is ever looking to go let me know , going out the alone is a bad idea.

(I don't know how to embed video)

Sinking your headlights under water is an even worse idea.

A planned ride one of these weekends would be cool being the weather is getting nicer. I also wheel alone without any recovery equipment, I know that's not a good idea. Lots have changed in Wharton since I frequented it back in the 80's-90's.

I agree...But its so much Fun!!

In that video I was coming back across because the stock Jeep Cherokee sucked in massive amounts of water and blew his head gasket.
