4" lift? or 4" total with the tires? on the dmv site it says any vehicle with a suspension lift. you can also see what they check.

From reading the regs it seems that everything revolves around bumper height, so technically, I guess if your bumper is 4" higher than it was when the vehicle was stock (whether that's from a lift, larger tires, or a combination of both) you're supposed to go for the test. However, as I said before, I've never seen a cop get a tape measure out at a traffic stop, not to mention the fact that he really has no way of knowing what the stock bumper height was anyway.

Like I said. Unless you are rolling a big rig with like 40s no one is going to bother you.

This truck sits at a shop on Route 1 in South Brunswick. It's got NY plates on it because I doubt it passes the "stability test." Why is it that every 4WD shop these days does only this crap? I mean I guess as long as you have half a brain and can do some searching online you can find the parts you need and install them yourself, so these guys just cater to idiots with money to burn...

that's krazyhouse I see that excursion getting trailered around now and then. some of the stuff they do is just stupid, but there is some pretty cool builds on their site.
