New TJ owner here. First Jeep, though I vacation a lot in St. John USVI and rent them there for the trails.

Had a 1999 Pathfinder previously that was fun off-road, but I'm anticipating this to be at another level!

Some parts yes, some parts no. I know that for sure, though haven't been there yet.

I'm in Manchester, just brought a used grand cherokee, and looking for some beginner trails. I'm glad to see there are still some riding spots in CT.

Who lives in Ct/ is there legal 4 wheeling in Ct?

Sorry to rain on the parade guys, anything you've heard about PUBLIC LAND trails being legal is WRONG! THERE ARE NO LEGAL PUBLIC LAND OFF ROAD TRAILS IN CT, PERIOD! I got this straight from the EPA & the State of Ct Land Use Statutes. Off course, that being said, we all know good trails around the state where you're UNLIKELY to run into a ranger/ warden. I've spent many FINE days at Aircraft Rd. before & after the "changes". Lamentation Mtn. Used to be GREAT FUN, until we over abused the neighbors & our welcome. Good luck, have fun, BE SAFE!!

Sorry, but you are wrong. I know of a dozen trails in CT anyone can legally go on. Ive spoken with law enforcement and the rangers that patrol the areas and open/close the gates everyday.

I agree, I have a few that I use regularly , while running into law enforcement, and they have confirmed that these trails are legal for registered vehicles to be on. All of the trails that I go on are connected to other legal state trails in RI, which are also legal trails maintained and patroled by DEM.

I ran into a group of guys on the powerlines close to the CT/RI line behind george washington this past Monday. Stopped and chatted with a couple of them for a few minutes before moving on, just wondering if any of them are on here. White wrangler, white chrokee, red chevy (square body), and a four wheeler.
