Ah, nepaug. I live 2 miles away and have been camping dirtbiking rafting and wheeling in there for years. Once I get my newest xj sorted out Id be down to meet up. I know it like the back of my hand, although MDC added some new barriers to keep the hooliganism to a minimum.

If you guys want a better trail with more technical stuff than Nepaug, let me know. It's not far from there but much less boring.

x 2!

I went back there for the first time last year and was horrified at how trashed the place had become. There's more garbage in there than ever. It's stuff like that which pisses off MDC and gets those barriers put in place.

If you do go, please respect the place so it can stay open for eveyone else to enjoy (not too many places left to go in northern connecticut that are still legal.) I know a lot of those powerline pictures were taken in places that (used) to be barricaded off.

Went on monday and had an awesome time. Never touched the powerline trails but watched 3 other jeeps go into them. I drove the main road and ended up meeting up with them coming out of the power lines. Right as I saw them come out I got pulled over. The cop thought that I was with them but I just explained to him what happened and he was fine with it. We had a mtn bike in the back because my buddy was riding some of the single track stuff and we just used the jeep to get from trail to trail. That seemed to help our case too because the cop talked with us for about 10 minutes about mtn bike trails in the area.

Glad you had a good time! I was up there a few weeks ago with the Jeep after it rained and had a good time too. Gotta watch some of the blind corners on the main trails!
