That is Old Florida Road, He is on the wrong side of the water crossing and is messing up the the wet lands. And you all should listen to the Turtle, He's got his finger on the pulse of CT land use.

The main roads are legal, any side trials, and the powerlines are not. The road down by the transfer station is fine, but don't take ANY of the off-cutes. You can follow that road till it dead-ends, or you can take a right before the dead-end (if the green gate is open). That right, is another main road, going up the mountain. It leads to the hiking trails, and back out to rt 202. There are two sand pits that the road will spit you out into, if the road becomes too rough to drive a civic over, you took a wrong turn out of the sand pit. The hill between the lower road that follows the river, and the hiking area can be washed out real bad, but late this summer, they dumped and plowed some dirt into it, so its smooth again.

Great info everyone, thanks. I was told by the police that nepaug DURING THE DAY, was legal on the open trail, not off trail. I have been there many times and I agree what is OFF is open to interpretation. I say we pick a club, all join and get to the trails. Sounds easy enough.

What would need to happen would be "Clean n' wheel" where we go out with permission, and pick up all the garbage around the trails while we wheel. It's all light and easy stuff. It's getting permission that's the problem, for some reason, hippies would rather see 55gal drums and early 1900's cars rotting in the woods than a single fresh tire tread. I like Nepaug, nice light ride through the calm woods, nothing really technical, just a nice ride.

Anyhow, way to bump a thread! lol
