If you look back theres a few places i mentioned earlier in this thread. The trails by the river are basically impassable right now though due to the water from rain/thaw and noone (me) maintaining/clearing them over winter

I am in Ellington and have never seen more jeeps in my life. I have heard there are offroad areas but have yet to find any.

I was out and googled Green Road on my phone. I found Green road and it was dirt. I did not find it boring. However, I could not find any annexed or adjescant quarry. I found one long road (Green) and passed some model airplane flying area about half way up the road. I was looking to make the turn into the quarry area the whole time but never saw such a place. Tons of bugs, some big puddles.

Anyone doing Porter road please advise. Not hard to find, but if you Google maps sat view, all the area to the right is closed- there was a chain fence there. You could go straight, up the hill, but it looked real narrow. Now I see why the other guy did not go in. Anyone ever go up there up that little hill and beyond? It really could narrow there.

Green is ok, apparently legal- its a dirt road but public. You can go about 2 miles maybe back into there. Porter- I did not go up there since it looked like it narrowed a bit. On Porter, I would tend to be careful there with line of sight, hikers, bikers, etc. going the opposite way.

Green Road

Green Road is boring when bone dry, like today. Take note: saw a police (4x4) vehicle way back in there deep. He said I was not on private property and that he was scoping it out for Friday night activity. I guess he meant high school kids going back in there to drink. This was at 9:20 am on a Sun.

Hey guys, can any of you recommend a shop in the area? I'm in Storrs and have been having some problems with my jeep. I've tried to do some trouble shooting in the parking lot but now I'm just getting frustrated. It really bothers me that I'm giving in and bringing it somewhere but I need to get it fixed.

What sort of issue are you having?

In addition to this thread, I disconnected the rear ds, jacked up the front tires and let it run. I noticed that when I turned the steering wheel almost all the way left and all the way right I got this loud knocking noise which seemed to be coming from the transfer case area. It was dark out so I couldn't see much but I'm thinking maybe U joints? But there was also no load on it so I'm not sure.

I'm thinking right now it could be wheel bearings, bad caliper/ lines, differential gears(?), or U joints (axle and/or ds).
