(31"-33"Max.*2011 Update Jeeps with Dana 44's front and rear can now run up to a 35" Tire.)

What's with the max tire size? Would you really exclude someone for having a dana 30 with 35s?

Yes,For years We kept it at a Max of 33" There was no need for us to run a 35" tire. Then along came the JK Rubicon with 32" tires. And a few old members left to run 35's.
So we made a change This year .They came back.
The main reason is to exclude Jeeps with Dana 35's from running 35" tires,Rubicons have Dana 44's.Prier to 95 the Dana 30'shad the small ujoint. We did not want to flood our club with 35's ,but a change might be made later. The BOD runs the club and that is the currant bylaw. There is no plan to up it to 37's.This works for us.

Still sounds like an arbitrary rule to me.

Their club, their rules. If you don't agree with them, then there are plenty of other clubs out there. While I am not a member of Patriot, I do agree that 35's should be run on an axle stronger than the D30. Anything less, and you are prone to failure, especially if your locked, IMHO. I feel like I' living on the edge with my current setup.
