Got another here too....XJ owner in search of some different trails....i live in Ludlow and there are a few out here, the main trail here decent and is privately owned land but the guys pretty cool about it and lets you go as long as your not stupid about it or anything.......but then again it goes into some state land where some EP's hang out sometimes....

All us from Western Mass should all get together sometime.....

So, you guys want to go wheeling?
Click on this link: EC4WDA 2008 Schedule

What you have just seen is roughly 120 events. They are held throughout New England, but generally centered from about Albany to central/eastern CT. None are far upstate NH or VT or down in NJ.

If you guys were to join up with Underground Jeeps or any of the other 13 clubs in the Northeast Region of EC4WDA, you would have access to all of those events. You could be out wheeling every single weekend of the year.. and then some if you so choose.
There are a ton of other bennies too that I won't list here unless asked to.
Average dues for one of our clubs is less than $50 a year.
Your best bet is to join a club. Many of the places where people go where they "haven't had any trouble at yet or so far" are quite probably private land or closed (illegal to drive) roads. Getting caught will be at least twice the cost of club dues. AND.. you'll know that where you're going IS legit.
Lots of great people, great friends, Jeepers, and people who just simply enjoy being outside wheeling, whether in a Toyota, Ford,or what have you.

Check out the clubs in the area by going to EC4WDA Northeast Region Clubs

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

Talk soon,

Wait, so if I join 'club A', I can go wheeling either with them or any other club?? Say I'm in 'club A' and can't amke it to their run one weekend, but I can make it to 'club B'. I'd be able to go to B's run even though Im in A?

More or less. Only catch is if we already have like 15 rigs going out, I am not going to say yes to another club bringing 15 rigs to a small trail; 30 rigs on a small trail = no fun for anyone. All you would have to do is contact the president or land chair from club B.

On a singular basis, if you are in club "A", Yes, you can attend Club "B"'s ride or Club "C" or even Club "J". The catch is provided they have room.
Case in point: E4W is doing a ride next weekend, Mar 29th. Due to its location, mud season, etc. it is limited to 15 rigs. So, if you called our trail coordinator and asked to go on the ride, he would put you on a waiting list in case anyone canceled. Generally however, that isn't an issue.

As far as I know there is no "Boston based clubs" There is Cape Cod Jeep Club, as the name implies they mostly from the Cape. My club, Underground Jeeps is mostly Worcester and Springfield guys, but I am from Tewksbury, our President lives in Mansfield, we also have 2 or 3 members in the Westboro area. Most clubs from what I have seen are spread out like this. Since as you can see most runs are in Central and Western MA, we all end up traveling somewhere.

The best advise I can give is to check out various clubs pages, join up on some of their forums, and get to know them. There is alot of different personalities in clubs, find one that meets your personality the best. I believe all clubs in the EC4WDA will allow you to come one one or 2 runs before you join (we actually require you to come atleast once) So go out and meet some people and have a great time! Most clubs are not wheeling much for another month or so, so you have plenty of time to meet people before the season takes off!

Here are some resources to start you off...

EC4WDA Clubs w. Contacts: http://ec4wda.org/regiond/memberclubs.asp
EC4WDA Calendar: http://www.undergroundjeeps.net/EC_Schedule.html
EC4WDA Forum: http://www.ec4wda.org/phpBB/index.php
- Also I think every club has their own forum on their site (links on the contact page)

If you have anymore questions, let me know

Chris Ryan

I have a list of 27 trails in western and central MA of legal trails to run. To many for us to even run all of them this year... Not to mention 28 Towns that have at lease 1 location we need to go out and scout. See my previous post. I am not saying join my club, but join A club. One will be right for you. There are plenty of legal places to run in MA, you just have to know where.
