Wk off road lights used on road

I'm planning on getting some PIAAs for my brush guard. I was thinking about powering them through the stock fog lights. I do use the fogs when it's nasty out. Can I legally run these on road? Or should I set up a separate switch and use them strictly off road?

Thanks,
Drew

I have fog lights mounted on my brush guard, as well as the factory fog lights. I have them wired to a seperate switch but I use both in nasty weather. I haven't had a problem with cops or people flashing their lights at me.
