Moving to Boston

So I am moving to Boston in June. I am going to be looking for a house with a garage, so I can work on the Jeep, somewhat close to the Coast Guard base.

Anyone know of areas I should look at/avoid?

How much are you looking to spend on rent? Boston is not a cheap city.

I am looking at 1700 buck a month if it is just me, but I think i might have two more people living with me, if they do we would probably be looking at 3000-3500 bucks.

Where exacly is the coast guard base, You wont find much for cheap housing near boston, unless you like the sounds of gunshots and sirens all night. North or south of boston are your best bet.

The base is up by the North Station. I am looking at living alone.
