Don't keep it out in the weather. It will rust and then it wont work when you need it. That rust will drop down onto your paint and leave some nice rust streaks.

putting a hi lift jack on the hood screams look at me just like adding a bunch of worthless lights on a light bar.Or hanging chain off the front bumper.
