Depends on which side of Boston you are on and which way you want to travel.

North, South, or West it does not much matter; the whole New England area is small anyways.

There are many clubs in the area and for the most part they are all good people. Best bet is to find a club that is a member of the NEA4WD (Northeast Association of 4WD Clubs) because the NEA offers some really cool private land to member clubs. I can personally vouch for New England Jeepz and Ocean State Jeepsters because I am a member of both. If you are into more hardcore wheeling then NEJZ is for you. I'd suggest attending events from different clubs and then making a choice based on what you think is the best fit.

Im with Baystatejeepers and we have a good crew of moderete to extreme. I think it depends on your wheeling style and if you want family oriented or not. Cheeck out the NEA link above and there are threads on the clubs in the NEA there that can help you with selection. just make sure you are properly equipped before you bang on doors. Tow points front / rear, snatch strap w/o metal hooks full size spare tire fire extinguisher and CB are more or less the minimum for any club.

That's not entirely true.
- Most clubs don't take trail runs to trails that are of questionable legality.
- Some clubs will avoid the "usual places" as for the most part they are being over-used and abused.
- Some clubs have access to their own private property that other clubs don't wheel.
- Only NEA clubs in good standing have access to 100's of acres of NEA-exclusive property.

So what. Most people only own a Jeep and not a rock buggy.
There are class 6 roads in NH, Old roads in all the other NE states as well.
4wheelin is not just about the Hard core people with big tires. The NEA has lost land too and given up on other land that is still ok to run but they have moved on.

You missed my point...which was that not ALL clubs run the same trails, "hardcore" or not.

Some clubs run the same trais 2 or 3 times in a year. Thats way too much and it gets pretty old quick.

Check out Mass Krawlers! We've got a good mix of people from all over the state, are in the final steps of joining the NEA, and we're working on clearing some private land for the club's use. The link is in my sig
