Catamount State Forest/ Pocumtuck Mtn.

Did anyone here ever get the chance to experience this place? Its been closed to jeeps since 1995. Its in my backyard and I hike there often which is how I found out about it. I would love to see some old pictures if anyone has any.

Jeep Jamboree held some events there. Google "Catamount State Forest Jeep Jamboree" and you will find a few pictures buried in the results.

I wish I were around to wheel in the old days. Its really sad to see all these places closed down. I'm a biologist and highly question the effects that vehicles really have on trails, but I respect private property and the law.

Have you considered hooking up with any of your local clubs? Most clubs in the region are affilliated with the Northeast Association of 4WD clubs and actively work to secure access to land. In fact we have several opportunities on the table in that area right now. We could use somebody with your background .
