Zj Newbie thats gonna buy a jeep!

Howdy! Sam here, I live in claremont nh and i have my eye on a 96 4.0 gc. I wanna get some advice really haha, Im buying it no matter what (300 bucks). Its got 251k, motor fires right up, oil pressure is where it should be no funky ticks or thuds or any abnormal noises. The tranny seems solid, drove it down the street, shifts smooth 4wd works ( I let it get fully warmed up before i moved it). The body is mint, no rust or rot, rockers are solid same with the floor boards.. shes been undercoated before, but it needs to be freshened up. Im buying it off a buddy because of some minor issues that will make it fail for vt inspection. (ball joints, busted windsheild, busted left rear window, missing door mirror, tires, o2 sensor, and rear pads and rotors.) Dose any one else on here have a high millage jeep? I know straight 6's are built to last in general, but are there some other things/places i should check out? I've been wanting a jeep before i could get my learners permit, and to find one with no rust or rot with a kinda clean body (mis-match drivers door and lightly dented right front fender) for 300 bucks ....whats it gonna hurt? haha

Sounds like a good deal but just keep in mind that all Jeeps are money pits. More enjoyable money pits than most things though. I had the older version of the inline 6 (carbureted 258) and it was right up around 200k miles before I yanked it out. Threw oil around everywhere but ran great.
