Go here to let me know if this will work LIJEEPS.freeforums.org I want to start a club and this is where we can start...

Longisland needs some sick trails and we have the land to have it!!!!!! all we need is a Registered club with enough members and with the sponsers as well we can make this happen.... we will also get the support from other clubs...

with the beaches be made for fishing and bathing we need to end this fight with our selves and get our own place to play!!!!!

Im talking wal-mart,auto zone, or ice cream stand parking lot jeep nights all over longisland so one will be close to everyone!!!!!

Sick Trails with different levels of experence from family day to crawlers.... and hell why not a rock pile!!!!

We deserve this and we have enough jeep owners to do this...

LETS MAKE THIS HAPPEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...... .

I will make this work!!! but i can't do it alone....

thanks again
Pass the crack pipe, it'll never happen on LI.

haha yea i know... but i have not heard of anyone trying..... so why won't it work????

because of the "Pass the crack pipe, it'll never happen on LI" attitude???? or everyone just sits back and complains and does noting about it....

well I'm the one willing to do the leg work but to start this off we need a registered club and we need bodies!!!!!!

when there is a problem at the beaches with the fishermen and 4 wheelers guess who wins everytime.... the fishermen do because the show up in numbers and now you have to be fishing to have access to the beach....

we need trails and the land is available.. thousands of acres!!!

All we need is people and a club... then there is no reason why it won't happen...

im all for a club but i dont think that having sponsors is gonna make a difference in places for us to wheel especial with the economy now no ones gonna pay to build trails.

the only way that i can see the state ever making 4X4 trails would be for people to buy expensive permits so they can make money off of it.

unless your talking about people in the club who have there own land and sponsors who have the land and will let us use it

these a group on here http://groups.jeepforum.com/Long_Island_Jeep_Club im gonna see if we can get a jeep forum beach run/meet and great soon

ppezzolla,

your right... sponsors will be good for shows and something to see at special events thats all they really do.. and club discounts ect... but look at the beach permit for 95 bucks a year with a green key just for certain beaches then you need a different one for other state owned areas its alot....

i just think its worth a shot if we get enough people to have a serious club then we now have a good argument with bringing in other out of state clubs for trail rides... compititions.... shows...ect... and they get a piece of that action... this could be a nice deal for them and we get what we want!!! trails...and making trails is a breaze.... drive through the woods going around trees with a bobcat for a day diging some nice pits and hills... we just have to leave the trees where they are... like the old days making tracks in the woods for our bmx bikes but now for our jeeps...

I can't see this being a huge deal but we need to back it up with people wanting in on this.... i'll be on them all day until they say ok ok just go away lol...

its state owned anyway let try to spend their money and if not we do with what we can pull in.... but they like it when they hear the cha-ching sound...

nothing is going to happen by its self or even over night...

im going to post a new thread on this...

thanks

LIOR and the NEA4WD have been around for a while, but in all honestly, there really aren't any trails on LI. even the illegal places dont pose a challenge to a built rig.

XJ,

this might be a long shot for something like this to work and a huge waste of time.... but i think its worth it if we get a hundred or so members... people come from all over to go to nj for their huge jeep shows.... and we have land here just begging for something.... calverton has a ton of space and they are planning to do something in there... last i heard was a water boat race park and indy tracks.... so they dont know what the hell they want.... and we do....

we got this..... ok maybe but still....

has LIOR and the NEA4WD ever tried to get some trails around here... all i know is past clubs care about the beaches.... and if we get the ball rolling they might just want to jump in to..... oh yea this can be huge!!!!! lol

I mean, sure, I'm down for getting legal trails, but its gonna be hard as hell. Isn't worth my time honestly for what the trails are, but if people get the ball rolling I'll sure as hell be in for the cause.

Smiths is open to the inlet. But you have to ride the beach to cut 3 because some parts of Burma road is closed. Infor from the beach 2 weeks ago. My son was there this past Sunday.

This is a great idea, but it is just the same as all the 1/4 drag guys trying to build a drag strip for the last 15 years. It wont happen, you mention pine barrens......my god, do you understand that will never be touched? The land out east on LI will have to generate millions in order to have any politicians do anything to it, offroad trails cant generate enough money. Remember, your on Long Island......Once you go a bit past calverton, and a bit south, you hit million dollar mansions, those folk that bring money out there dont want race tracks, off road trails, or any other stuff that is cool, local towns buy thier crap because they have to follow the cash flow. Steve Levy is the guy you need to contact, but coming from a drag racing life......dont waste your time. Take the two hour ride off the island and get real trails.

XJ - I think ive seen your jeep around. I saw your brown twin the other day roll past king kullen. Or maybe that was you covered in mud. If your around Huntington over the weekend shoot me a PM, doing some jeep stuff, bbq, beers n what not if your down.

yeah it had decent lift, tires, doors off(which is awesome on those rigs), full of dirt. I have an alternate DD as well, thankfully.

Ive been trying to figure out a way to get private land leased for a while. Right now my GF sister works for a guy that owns several quarries on LI and some arent being used. I figured some badass mud pits and huge rocks wouldnt be trouble. I figured a club with $ for the lease and liability wavers might make it happen. I have no idea of the money involved in it but I think if it was open a couple days a week I could see several hundred memberships. This is how they got things going at the dirtbike track in ronkonkoma.
I was involved in the drag strip thing also- Levy and Cardinal - big thumbs down to you guys.
