Anyone in NYC that can check out a Wrangler for me?

Hopefully soon-to-be Wrangler newb here.

I know this is a lot to ask, but figured I'd see if anyone was willing to volunteer. I just put a deposit on a Wrangler in Brooklyn at a dealership that has pretty good eBay feedback, but I would love for someone that knows these vehicles inside-and-out to give it a once over. I'm about 70 miles from Brooklyn, but I don't really know these vehicles that well except for some basics (leaks, etc).

I can definitely pay for time/gas as well.

Please let me know if you'd be willing to help me out. Thanks all!

Is the vehicle itself listed on line? At a minimum we could look at a listing and photos for you. You'd be surprised what can be determined just by that. I'm in your area, but have my children with me this weekend otherwise would try to help.

Here is the listing. I won't be finalizing the sale for a couple weeks.

Overall looks like a very basic jeep in reasonable condition. Would be interesting to see some shots of the underneath though. Make sure nothing is bent up and that there is no rust problem.

Few questions:

1. Why is the right front fender flare new? Suggests it might have been hit on that corner.

2. What is the tape along part of the top of the windshield? Is it leaking there?

3. Sort of looks like both rear wheels are missing a lug nut.

You can see some rust on the frame, but I'm not sure what would be considered acceptable on that front. I'd love to get it resurfaced/rustproofed as I know a local shop that does that.

Right front fender, will check that out - good eye.

They told me the tape was there because they replaced the windshield. Tape is no longer there.

Also good spot on the rear wheels. I'll ask them to replace those.

My biggest concern right now is the rust, and also getting there to make sure it drives OK (especially the transmission).

The listing is still up so I would assume that he didn't buy it. Good thing too. Obviously the dealer was lying saying the windshield was replaced. A glaizer would never use duct tape on a new shield. RF did take an impact to it. Front bumper was repaired and over spray still visable on the bumper caps. Fender flare is new. Fender most likely repaired because new fenders are costly. Frame did show some rust too.
