Hey all, I live in Lancaster and was hoping to have my rig together and shake it down a bit on Sunday. I haven't done a lot of wheeling with it yet...

I wont know for sure until I do some wrenching on Saturday, but I was wondering if there anything to know or look out for if I were to make it down there this weekend....

Pull, up west trails road on your GPS, depending on your rig's set up.
You'll want a spotter and will want to go down West Trails from Woodbine.
Or seeing you haven't done much wheeling with your rig you can go down the East Trails Rd side to get to West Trails Rd at the junction of East and West Trails Rd's with Midvale Rd.

The eastern entrance is easier than the western.
Commonly to exit the western side, you'll want a winch and or lockers.

I'll be heading up on Sunday with a couple other vehicles.

Hope to see you there.

???!!!??? Has Trails Rd gotten way harder or something? Angel went out the western side with no lockers or winch way before I ever did it. More a case of picking your line carefully. Stay to the right when you come up to the big ledge, and pivot around on the rocks to your left and your home free.

I said, "want" not need!

I've been going to Trails Rd since 93 and yes it has gotten harder.

I have gone up West trails with 31" street tires with a almost stock YJ, so yes it can be done.

I have also winched people up the west side who have snapped axles and so on.

The guy asked if there was anything he should know or look out for.

Wasn't trying to start anything. I havent been to Trails in about a month or more, but the last time I was there I thought that the East exit had got more difficult than it had been. Seemed to be more rutted. The west exit seems to stay more consistent since it is more rocks, and not as steep. I could just imagine the hurricane rains had really done a number on the trail. I will say, that one ledge that I mentioned is quite intimidating if you aren't expecting it. But there is a way around it.

No worries, belonging to multiple Internet forums I have developed thick skin, and tend to just clarify my opinions and replies as needed.

That thing that keeps breaking the ears off my axles when I don't have enough sense to back off the throttle.

Thanks for the advice, I have a 3.5 lift on 33s plus a winch...however I will be going with my wife (the furthest she went off road is a mall parking lot) so this could be interesting...

Hope to see some people up there!

Maybe we can get anyone planning on heading up on Sunday to post their planned arrival time?

I am only about 25 min from Trails so I am pretty flexible.
