Got accepted to LHU

I feel this is the appropriate section to post this. I'm a senior going to a small school near the Pocono's. I just recently got accepted to Lock Haven University and was wondering your opinions. Price and campus life seem great but the area feels a little lacking (parties, shopping, things to do). If anyone has been to that area or attended this college. Let me know your thoughts. Thanks.

Don't know anything about the school but I know the town is being pretty much destroyed by mexican gangs like ms-13, border brothers, suernos and all the others. But considering so is 90% of america I guess its not really too bad.

Please excuse me because I'm a freaking tard. For some reason I was thinking about hazelton being over with mexicans and gangs. I haven't been to lock haven since high school ('95, I'm an old fart) and it was pretty nice then. Sorry about the mix up.

Lock Haven is a decent town and school in my opinion. It isn't a bustling city or anything but there is a fair amount to keep you busy. The faculty and students are very friendly and helpful for the most part. I feel that the school is worth the money as I wanted to go to Penn State originally but can't afford 20,000 a semester.

I looked into a Lock Haven as well but they dont have the program I wanted so Penn State or Ohio State is it for me and I'll take the $25k for being closer to home than $35k for another state.

But I've been up there a few times and have a few friends up there too, its a fun, laid back city, its like the small town mentality but in a much larger scale, kinda funny thing to expereince.

Coming from Palmerton, I feel like the small town style would suit me better. But I would like a change so maybe opting for a larger school in a more populated area makes more sense.

I know the small town feel. Haha. But thats the one thing I liked about it up there, its a small town mentality but with a much larger population and a lot more to do.

From online reviews, many stated there wasn't "as much" to do, but Im sure i'll find something!

I went to penn tech in williamsport. Really is not much to do.
I personally loved the area for its outdoors. Fishing, biking, snowboarding in ny ,scenery/parks.
Thursday nights are party nights. Friday when classes are over, I wouldn't be surprised if 60+% of campus leaves to go home for the weekend. My friends and I always stayed at school, thers nothing to do in our small hometown. On weekends at campus looked like a ghost town. my home population about 5k and williamsport too had that small city/big town feel and probably has close to 100k.

Interesting, i think LHU will be 2nd pick next Castleton State in Vermont.
