2012 EJP Comp Run!!!

Well, it's that time of year and the Comp Run is just around the corner. So, as usual, we need volunteers to make it happen. Post up if you are planning on running your Jeep as well as if you are willing to work a little.

Saturday September 15th
Members can compete for FREE
Non-members must pay a $5.00 entry fee
This is an all day event so please bring a lunch to eat on the trail.

Meet at the Country Fair in Union City at 8:00AM at the intersection of Route 97 and Route 8. Then we will go to the trails from there.



Awards to be given away to the winners in each category for the obstacle course and RTI ramp.

We are gonna need a few volunteers to help with the set-up of the courses, the judging at the event, and people to take pictures and video. Remember if you are judging you won't be able to compete in the class you are judging and if you are taking video or pics, you most likely won't have much time to wheel.



Results and awards from the Comp Run will be announced at Creekside Bar and Grille.

COMP RUN CLASS DESIGNATIONS


Stock

TIRES: Maximum 31" tire as per marked on the sidewall.

SUSPENSION: Suspension must be of original design, maximum 2" of combined lift (body+suspension)

AXLES: Axles must be of OEM design. Any axle that came in or was a factory option for that year. Factory limited slip differentials (trac-loc) permitted. Axle width must conform to OEM spec.

TRANSFER CASE: Stock t-case only

STEERING: Factory steering components and configuration only.

BODY: Body may not be altered in any way.

WHEELBASE: No modification to the wheelbase allowed.

Modified

TIRES: Minimum of 32", Maximum of 34" as per marked on the sidewall.

SUSPENSION: Suspension must be of original design (no leaf to coil conversions, 1/4 elliptical, 3/4 elliptical) maximum combined lift of 5" (body+suspension) No coil overs.

AXLES: Axles must be of OEM design. Any axle that came in or was a factory option for that year is permissible. Axle width must conform to OEM spec. Replacement axle shafts allowed. Up to 1 locker F or R permissible. Replacement gears allowed.

TRANSFER CASE: Stock t-case only, no low gear conversions or aftermarket units.

STEERING: Factory steering components and configuration only.

BODY: Body lines may not be drastically altered. (trimmed flares permitted)

WHEELBASE: Wheelbase may be altered +/- 3 inches.

Unlimited

TIRES: Minimum 35", maximum 44"

SUSPENSION: Any. Coil overs, 1/4 ellip, 3/4 ellip are permissible.

AXLES: Any design, any width. Front and rear lockers advised. Any gear ratio permitted.

TRANSFER CASE: Any

STEERING: Hydro steering and rear steer are permitted. Custom steering linkage permitted.

BODY: Body may be altered.

WHEELBASE: Wheelbase may be altered.

*Vehicles that fall between categories will be placed at our discretion.

All vehicles must have the following
- Tow points front and rear.
- Minimum of 1 fire extinguisher.
- Tow strap
- Open top Jeeps must have a roll cage (minimum factory cage)
- First aid kit

COMP RUN SCORING RULES

Stopping: 2 points will be issued if the vehicle stops forward progress for longer than 5 seconds. Stopping is defined as the vehicle not making forward progress. If the vehicles tires are spinning but not making forward progress they will be considered stopped.

Backing up: 2 points will be issued for a vehicle reversal. A back up is considered when the driver puts the vehicle into reverse and backs up or, pushes the clutch and rolls back. A back up is not counted if the vehicle is nudged back by the obstacle. If the competitor has stopped (longer than 5 seconds) he/she gets a point for stopping, if he/she then chooses to reverse they will get a point for reversing. If he/she reverses prior to the 5 second stop rule they will only be issued one point for reversing.

Rear steer: The use of rear steer will be penalized 5 points per use.

Gates: Obstacles will be marked with gates (cones). Gates include the start/finish gates, course gates and possible trees or bushes marked with tape or ribbon. 5 points will be issued for every gate touched. You can only be penalized once per gate. Missing a gate entirely will result in a DNF for the obstacle. Once a competitor crosses the next gate they can no longer go back and attempt the missed gate.

Spotters: Spotters are encouraged for all classes. A team who's spotter remains in the vehicle during the entire obstacle will receive (minus) -5 points.

Winching: Winching will be assessed 30 points. *winch weights must be used while winching. A time out WILL be called to set up a winch point.

Strapping: Holding onto the vehicle with the use of a strap or rope by the spotter will result in 5 points being issued.

For Stock class and Mod stock, vehicles not equipped with a winch that need recovered will be issued the same penalty as winching out 30 points.

Timer: The timer will start once the vehicles front tires start to move. The timer will stop when either the driver completes the course or the driver stops trying. Penalty points will be given at a rate of 1 point per every 10 seconds it takes you to complete the course.

Trail Modification / Rock Stacking: There will be a 5 point penalty per obstacle for stacking rocks, moving logs, filling holes with rocks or logs. In addition to this 5 point penalty, you will also receive your 2 point penalty for every 5 seconds that you are stopped waiting for your spotter to stack the rocks.

Obstacle order: Stock #1 - Mod #1 - Unlimited #1 - Stock #2 - Mod #2 - Unlimited #2

Running order: Running order will be determined at the start of each obstacle by a random number drawing.

RTI Score: RTI scores do not affect overall competition score.

RTI calculation: RTI scores wil be calculated as follows: (distance up the ramp / wheelbase) X 1000

All judgements made on the course by a official are final.
