Tj Ft Leonard Wood

I will be a guest at Fort Leonard Wood from August- December and look forward to meeting up with other military or non military Jeepers in the area for trips to SMORR, etc.

Would love to hear from others in and around the area.

Dude - if you've never been to SMORR you will love it. Can't wait to get back there. Went to Howiepalooza a few months back with the WK and the place is incredible. I especially can't wait to get my XJ in order so I can haul/dolly it down there.

Are the roads in the Mark Twain National Forest system worthy of visiting... more or less a road trip that doesn't involve asphalt. I don't always like to go out and break something... just a topless cruise through the woods is good sometimes, too.

I recently PCSd to FLW I'd love to find some offroading buddies. I don't have my jeep anymore but I have a beat up old short wheelbase F-150 with a small lift and 31"s. I live off base in Waynesville

Try Rock Rash Off Road https://sites.google.com/site/centra...ri4x4club/home, it is in this area and allows any 4x4 military or civilian. There are a bunch of good people in it

I got out and discovered some pretty nice short trails here on base. And I can point anyone into the direction of an "atv" trail in the national forest, a little tight in some places but got my Jeep through no problem. Alas, nearly got stuck in a mudhole... Can't image a 4 wheeler making it through that one since it almost swallowed me with 35" M/Ts.

Wow. didn't realize there was a bunch of actual jeeper's here. I just bought another one coming off this last deployment. I'm at fort wood for a few more weeks if anyone wants to go out.

There is a large group of us from the Kansas City area going to SMORR on Sept 21. Most of us will be getting there on Friday afternoon, wheel until midnight Friday, wheel all day on Saturday, and leave on Sunday.
