Visiting Austin, sometime.

My GF whants us to go to Austin for our vacation some time.
She is all hung up on the Roller Derby thingy, me? Well I like food and beer so...

That totals three things to do.

Just thought you Texans might be ableto give me sometips on what to do in and around Austin, and when to go there? I think we will spend 10 - 14 days.
Ive read on the interweb that there is a lot of conventions in spring/early summer so prices go up, bad time for a visit.

So, to sum up.

- What to do?
- What to see?
- When to go there?
- Where to eat
