Trails near Houston

Post some good trails and off road parks near Houston. Looking for some good places to go that you don't need a jeep on tractor tires to make it through.

Texas Off Road Ranch up near huntsville is pretty fun for a good half+ day trip. No mudpits just various sized dirt paths, a couple creek crossings.

TORR does have some mudpits if you go after a rain. They also have rocks if that's what you prefer. And some trails and creek beds. Also some big water holes near the pit area. I've been there twice and had fun.

Down South Offroad is near Crosby. Never been.

Brazos Valley Off Road Ranch is in Bryan, but you need to go with a club. Never been.

The beach is nearby. Crystal Beach or Matagorda Beach.

Been to down south twice. First time out imageuploadedbyag-free1389392076.233486.jpgimageuploadedbyag-free1389392087.812976.jpgimageuploadedbyag-free1389392102.344205.jpg
I was pulling winch cable all day wasn't much fun.
All the trails are pretty deep from jeeps and trucks with tractor tires. And all the side by sides and atvs don't pay attention where there going.

Wow, that makes me not want to go. I heard it's just mud hole after mud hole.

A few Jeeps and myself are heading to TORR on the 18th. Here are some pics from TORR.

That looks much better. I like more trail riding with some mud and never been rock crawling but I'm not against it yet. There's a place in splendora that's not bad can't think of the name right now.

It was relatively dry when we went though.

Sounds like a good idea to me. Tried starting last weekend but I had a couple of fuel fittings sucking air in so I'm trying go get the right fittings and lines. Hopefully I'll get it done In the next couple of weeks or at least mid February. Thanks for the input on how it looks.

I live right down the road from DSO (Down South) and i havnt been but my friends always go and come back broken. But they have those big heavy diesel trucks so they think they can get through anything but always come back broke. After seeing their trucks i dont wanna try my Cj out there. Do yall guys ever get together and do anything? Ive only seen 2 other running Cjs around Crosby.
