I'm looking to put some 4.10 gears in my '95 yj to replace the 3.55 I currently have. Here's my situation, I have complete axles from another '95 yj that have 4.10 in them. What is the best way to get them on my rig, the 4.10 axles have rust, my current setup has none. Can I just swap the differentials and keep my axle shafts and such? I've never messed with gears so I don't know the first thing, anyone around San Antonio willing to help me out?

You can't just swap the differentials from one housing to another, to do so would require a master kit and setup....high dollar and not something you should do on your own with out some previous experience.

Your best bet is to swap out each complete axle assembly over to the 4.10 setups.

Thanks, so if i understand you correctly, you're saying a complete axle swap is the best to go.

Need to regear my front axle. Anyone know of a good place to take it in SA? Or better yet, anyone wanna help me do it myself? Setting up gears is about the only thing I haven't ever done.

Just throwing it out there if anybody is interested. Me and a couple other jeeps are making a plan to go to Corpus Christi for the weekend of May 10-12. Whether you want to go for the day or the whole weekend let me know and i will give you the details of the trip.
