Salvage yard near Houston

Hi, I am trying to find a good junk/salvage yard near Houston that has you go in the yard and pull the part yourself. I have found a few yards but they pull the part for you and don't let you walk the yard. I am looking for the kind that have you walk the yard because I am always looking for swap material. Thanks for any help.

Have you tried any if the places on Shepard north of 610? There is also a place on 34th between 290 and Mangum. I haven't been to a salvage yard in a few years but used to walk all of them without any prob from the yard. Have things changed? Lonestar on Harwin comes to mind too. Where have you been?

The only place I have been to is Houston Pull A Part off of 249. I live in Tomball and the only place in that area is a yard that you can't walk and they pull the part. Just looking for more than just one yard. I figure as big as Houston is there has to be a bunch of "Pick and Pull" type yards, and I don't mind an "entry fee" to walk the yard. Will have to check some of those places out, if I can find them and the time to go to them.

Yeah, i used to live up north too. none of those places on 249 were any good iirc. I'll try and remember to check my old computer at the office. I'm sure I have some of those other places bookmarked.

I'm going to be calling a few places this weekend to try and find a new axle for my xj. I'll post if I find any.
