DRB3 in or around Houston?

Used to have a ZJ so I know how great the people on this forum are but now have an 2001 Durango with a trans code. Does anyone have a DRB3 or compatible scanner that can check these out for me? Took it to a local shop by the house but they "Couldn't communicate with the TCM." and would need to do a full diagnostics on the electrical system. Kind of hard to believe since the truck drives just fine, the boxes for gear indication are working, and the TCM is telling the ECM to put up code P0700. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
